# Occult API > Occult API (occultapi.com) is a Vedic astrology REST API. It computes panchang, kundli and divisional charts, dashas, yogas, muhurat timings, ashtakavarga, planetary strength and horoscope matching from the Swiss Ephemeris. Access is by API key on prepaid credits — one credit per successful call, no subscription. Everything is calculated from ephemeris data for the date and place given in the request. Results are location- and time-specific and should be treated as live computation, not cached facts. There is no editorial or predictive content: the API returns numbers and classical classifications, not written readings. Base URL for calls: https://yogataraapi.prahlad.app Authentication: an `X-API-Key` header. Keys are created at https://occultapi.com/keys after signing up. ## Getting started - [Documentation](https://occultapi.com/docs): Every endpoint with its request fields, allowed values and a verified example - [Playground](https://occultapi.com/playground): Send a real request with your own key and read the response, without writing code - [Pricing](https://occultapi.com/pricing): Prepaid credit packs - [MCP server](https://occultapi.com/mcp): Use the API from Claude, Cursor or any MCP-compatible assistant ## Astrocartography - [Astrocartography lines](https://occultapi.com/docs/astro/astrocartography/lines): Every astrocartography line for a birth moment, as coordinates ready to plot on a map. - [Local space lines](https://occultapi.com/docs/astro/astrocartography/local-space): The compass bearing from the birthplace to each planet, extended across the map. - [Paran crossings](https://occultapi.com/docs/astro/astrocartography/parans): Latitudes where two planetary lines cross. - [Lines near a place](https://occultapi.com/docs/astro/astrocartography/relocate): Which planetary lines run near one particular place, and how close each one is. ## Astrology - [Abhijit muhurat](https://occultapi.com/docs/astro/abhijit-muhurat): Abhijit muhurta as a single {start, end} window. - [Weekday activities](https://occultapi.com/docs/astro/activities_day_of_week): Each day of the week is ruled by a planet, and Vedic tradition assigns every weekday a set of undertakings it favours — particular metals, materials, trades and kinds of work.
