Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated
The Occult API is sold as monthly or yearly plans that renew automatically. This page sets out how cancelling works, when we refund, and how to ask.
Plans renew until you cancel
- Plans are billed monthly or yearly and renew automatically through Razorpay until you cancel.
- You can cancel any time from Billing. Cancelling stops the next renewal; there is no notice period.
- After you cancel, your plan stays usable until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Renewals already charged are not refunded, and neither is unused quota: a month's quota resets at the start of the next month and does not carry over.
- Errors are never charged. A call that fails consumes nothing from your quota.
What a credit buys
One credit is consumed by one successful API call. A request that fails validation, or that fails because of an error on our side, consumes nothing — so you are never charged for a call that did not return an answer.
When we refund
We will refund a purchase in these cases:
- Duplicate or accidental payment. Charged twice for the same plan, or subscribed to a plan you did not intend to. Tell us within 7 days and we will refund it in full, provided the quota is substantially unused.
- Credits not delivered. If a payment succeeded but the credits were never added, we will either add them or refund the payment, whichever you prefer.
- The service does not work as documented. If an endpoint does not behave as its documentation describes and we cannot fix it in reasonable time, we will refund the unused part of your current period.
- We close your account for a reason other than a breach of the Terms. The unused part of your current period is refunded.
When we do not refund
- Renewals already charged, and quota left unused when a month ends.
- Credits already consumed by successful calls. The service was delivered.
- Calls made with a key you leaked or shared. Revoking a key is immediate and free; spend before that point is real spend.
- Dissatisfaction with astrological interpretation, as distinct from a calculation that is demonstrably wrong. Classical sources disagree on method, and where a choice exists the documentation states which convention an endpoint follows — check it before buying at volume.
- Accounts closed by us for a breach of the Terms of Service.
How to request a refund
Email mridul.kabra23@gmail.com from the address on your account, with the payment reference from your receipt and a sentence on what went wrong. We aim to respond within 3 working days.
Approved refunds go back through Razorpay to the original payment method. Your bank usually takes a further 5–7 working days to show it. The corresponding credits are removed from your balance when the refund is issued.
Before you buy at volume
Every endpoint can be tried from the playground with your own key, and each one costs a single credit. Testing the calls you actually need on the smallest plan is far cheaper than a refund conversation, and it is what we would rather you did.
